Great good thanks go out to everyone who read this, the “little blog that could,” during His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa’s amazing and blessed visit to the United States. That the blog got more than 72,000 hits in its short life – averaging 2,900 per day from all over the world – gave us that warm, fuzzy feeling that what we were doing mattered to you, and helped you feel just a little bit closer to His Holiness.
The Karmapa’s warmth, good humor, and love touched us all, and we tried to pass that along to you, through photos and stories of both the large and little events of His Holiness’ visit. Here’s a tribute (and some photos!) of the team that made it happen.
Thanks go out to His Holiness’ Office of Communications, the Karmapa Foundation, Karma Triyana Dharmachakra, Karma Thegsum Choling New Jersey, and Kagyu Thubten Choling. Your guidance made us feel cared for, and that we were part of a larger effort that helped His Holiness.
Thanks also to writers John Chacona, PC Chen, Charles Dawes, Yeshe Wangmo, Kathy Wesley, Amy Wu, Fu-hua Feng, Monica Liu, and others; to webmaster (and webstream artist) Jacek Rosa; FM Radio support from Shou-Ling Peng; to Photographers Allison and Svetlana Aniskina, Andrea Barrist-Stern, Stephanie Colvey, Robert Hansen-Sturm, Sarite Sanders, Filip Wolak. Thanks also to the videography team, including Jeff Garden, David McCarthy, and our friends from other organizations, including the Karmapa Foundation. Also, we thank our web editors and “digital dakinis,” Beth Keenan and Marzi Pecen, who sorted through all the photos and stories and helped us look good quickly – a major feat.
Finally, thanks to His Holiness, for showing us an example both humbling and inspiring. May we become like you in all ways!
